He meant "Wix"...they are sold by O'Reilly Auto Parts, among others, and also sold by NAPA as their "Gold" filter. Very high quality.

I did an internet search for dealers around me that carry WIX, and found a few, one was an Advanced Auto Parts that I pass to/from work. Stopped there last night. Didn't have any, just K&N, Purolator, Fram, & AC Delco. The K&N one felt alot heavier than the Fram one. I'll keep looking.

O'Reilly's has them if you have one in your area. If not, NAPA Gold is just as good. Those are the only 2 brands I'll run. JMHO

Motor is all back together except for a harmonic balancer. LS3 heads, LS3 intake, LS3 throttle body and Vette LS3 accessory setup. So basically now I have an LS3, minus .2 cubic inches. I have a GM performance parts LS2 controller kit, that just went in the mail to Mike Norris to see if he can reprogram it for the LS3 setup. The controller kit is exactly the same as the LS3 kit except for the computer itself, and a jumper harness for the MAP sensor. Everything else is identical. Gotta post pone my T56 magnum purchase a bit as I had to replace the fridge in my house in Indiana, & had to have the thermal expansion valve replaced in the heat pump furnace in Indiana too. So that de-funded me over $2k. I need to get a GN fuel line (it comes up the drivers side), the Vette regulator/fuel filter, fuel pump, headers, power steering lines, balancer, belt, intake tube and of course the T56 and should be runnin.

Oh and I ditched the fram filter & got the Wix one from NAPA.

Sure would be nice if I could get this LT1 version T56 sold.

I'll take some engine pics tonight & post.

How about you Jim, got that LS3 in that El Camino yet?

Yesterday I ordered the Pacesetter headers through Amazon. Like $273 with free shipping, and they were here when I got home from work today. Everyone says the driver's side fits without mod, but the passenger side may need a little massaging. However I don't like how the driver's side kicks out toward the frame, thinking I may modify it so they are straight back. decisions decisions.

Engine is ready to go in, has Vette covers, LS3 heads/intake,/TB, and Vette front accessories.

I have the GM LS2 controller kit, need to change the PCM to the one for the LS3 kit. I am thinking I should have went with a Speartech harness instead, we will see.

Well a little update today. Got the motor in the car with help from Pete (PEDRO, it will probably have to come out before its there for good. Surprised how well it went in. Looks to be only a small area where the headers interfere on the passenger side. I think I will pull the motor & "notch" the frame a little to clear the small interference. No problem with the coils interfering with the AC box, doesnt look like the coil covers will fit without some trimming.
