So with what I have $ wise in the LS2 so far & the price of the trans I was going to get, I can almost buy this:

So if I do that, then my current motor or the one in the chassis will be for sale. I know a ton of work, but how cool!

Hey im looking to do this swap on my project just curious as to where you got all the measurements for the mounting points of the front suspension and rear? (not sure if you started that yet). Or if you reverse engineered them yourself. thanks kyle

I had them listed together as a complete set, got lots of requests on the tranny, not much on the motor. Had someone that wanted the motor, so I sold it & now no interest in the tranny. Listed it for $1700 for tranny, Hurst shifter, bell housing, flywheel, clutch, hydraulics.

whats the easiest way to install a clutch pedal in a g body ?? please help need info thanks

There are companies that make aftermarket clutch pedals that work with the stock bracket. You will have to modify the brake pedal for the smaller pad.

Time for me to get off my @$$ & get back on this project & get it running. Maybe get it to RTTH this fall. So yesterday I made a big purchase, ordered a T56 magnum from Hurst Driveling Conversions. Should be here in 5 days or so.

Original plans changed though, not doing the vette suspension & new frame.

Hi John....... Updates.....

Well the new frame & Vette suspension plans got nixed...

So I ordered a T56 Magnum for it. I decided to go with it becausethe stock transmissions I found were about $700 cheaper than the Magnum. Motor is in, trans is in, using an LS7 clutch & flywheel, 98-02 bellhousing.

Been working on it after work and on weekends when I can. Problem is we are now in Virginia & wife is constantly saying let's go to the beach, lets go to Busch Gardens, Let's go here/there....

Just time to get it back together.

Any trans tunnel manipulation to fit the magnum Scot? What clutch pedal set up are you using? I am thinking of going that route behind my ls1 in my '86. Thanks, Jim.

I had to cut out some of the tunnel & redo from when I had the LT1/T56 in there, but it looks pretty much as stock tunnel did. Have been workin on it, motor/trans is in the car, working on the fuel system & trans cross member. Tons to do still.

Sounds like some great work to be done for another great Monte Carlo. I can't want to get started on mine. Got any pictures of the upgrades in progress.
