i have a TBSS and have worked on many of them at the dealer. the alternator is pretty cool, GM says they did it to help it last longer due to fast RPM changes. when you are on it really hard and then back off all the way you can hear the alternator still spin at higher speed than the engine. makes an odd wizz/wine noise.

Some stuff I have decided to do:

Mast oil pan, it showed up today.

It doesn't have oil baffles, but they have some oil control structures built into the casting. G forces from cornering will pull oil from one side through a slot in the wall & cause the oil to pass by the oil pump pickup.

Thinking about having the casting machined for a flat surface & mount a couple of these above the oil openings.

Going to swap out the LS2 heads for LS3 ones, they have bigger sodium filled valves, & obviously flow better. Got a Camaro LS3 intake on the way to mate to the heads. Hoping the stock LS2 throttle body will fit on it.

Then for a cam, probably going with one from Lloyd Elliott with mid 230ish duration on intake, upper 230ish exhaust, .61x/.62x lifts. Can't remember exact specs.

I made my own when I put the LT1/T56 into it. I don't think it will work with the LS2/T56 because of the LS2 being 1" set back. So not sure what I am going to do, modify it, or get a different one.

Good deal buddy. Any plans to give 'em a light port job, maybe flow bench them? This would give you a good metric for cam selection...

BTW, you missed the Power Tour in your old home town this week. Trav is out having a ball!

Got everything except the new tranny, sold a bunch of old parts last weekend and have a guy who is buying my old 700R4 this weekend, I gotta get some more cash piled up and my wife is the bank! lol..I cleaned up the engine bay really nice and shot it with some semi black that looks much better, in the wait time Iam going to do some detailing and replace worn out parts. Its been 10 years since the front end was rebuilt so I will get that out of the way, just got a energy suspension body bushing kit ( really good price on it) to toss on,new brake lines and just going over some little stuff I can afford until I get the new tranny, looks like you'll be burning up the streets in your area real soon! You have everything now...or more parts coming lol..;-)

Do I have everything now? Shoot no. Need a tranny, wiring harness, headers, throttle pedal, o2 sensors, clututch parts. Ah too much to list.

Still trying to sell my LT1 version T56. So much to do.
