Yep, thats a great price, however you might be able to get away with just bending some parts at an exhaust shop which will save you some trouble

2nd Chance Camaro - Heading Back to US Collision Part 1

2011 12-09 Update - Heading Back to US Collision Part 1
      Posted: Dec 09, 2011 www.2ndchancecamaro.com

      Good Morning All,

The car is complete and heading back to US Collision for primer.

Getting the car in the trailer was easy. About a year ago my buddy Don at Village Auto installed an electric winch.

Time to remove all of the original caulk.

Close up of the only body damage on the shell.

You can see the trunk floor has a little wrinkle in it. I might leave it there after we replace the tail panel. You have to keep some of the cars history.

I want to thank Jay for doing such a great job on the car.

2nd Chance Camaro - Going to get Blasted

2012 01-06 Update - Going to get Blasted

      Posted: Jan 06, 2012 www.2ndchancecamaro.com

      Good Morning All,

Wow am I far behind posting pictures and yes these pictures are from almost a year ago.

With the car over at US Collision it was time to start working on the sub-frame. Yep another trip to Pro-Tek Powder Coating
to get the sub-frame blasted. I just hate working with dirty or rusty parts. Call me a neat freak but I like a clean work enviroment.

The frame is pretty much rust free and the should be fairly easy for Jay to blast.

Now that the frame is blasted I can haul it to High Speed Welding. www.highspeedwelding.com Stubby is going to clean
up the welds and add some new weld to stiffen up the frame. Not going crazy just a little clean up.

      New Product Update: www.kore3.com

New Brakes arrived from Tobin at Kore3. The price was incredible and it has factory reliability what more could you ask for. Did I mention Tobin has to be one of the nicest vendors I have ever worked with.

I have read a lot of great things about Kore-3 and Tobin.
Which kit did you get? Kore-3 is who I am going to go to for my brakes.
I'm just not sure which kit I want.

For the money you can beat the price and the customer support.

Best bang for the buck is the C5/C6 Kit. One of the main reason I wanted this kit is i can still
run a GTO spare tire as I plan to drive this car. For mock up I just ordered the base rotors. When
the car is complete and all bugs are worked out I will get the nice rotors.

I never saw you mention it, but are you running the ridetech setup in the back too? I am following your build closely and this is very similar to what I have planned for my 74 Firebird. I have looked at all the different suspension offerings and I keep coming back to ridetech, especially with the new coilovers. The system seems well thought out, and they get out there and test their products.

Yep - The front & rear suspension will be all Ride Tech & Moog. Once the "Prep-Posts" are complete I going to post up the build concept for the car. The goal with this car is to build a modern Vintage TA Car. Tire size will be 295's rear and 255's front so it has nice drivablilty.

2nd Chance Camaro - Dusting a little Primer on the Subframe

2012 01-11 Update - Dusting a little Primer on the Subframe
      Posted: Jan 10, 2012 www.2ndchancecamaro.com

      Good Morning all,

My good buddy Tommy from www.sportmachines.net stopped by to help me with the car while he was in town. Honestly
I really think he came over so I would buy him lunch at Los Burritos Tapatios (( www.losburritostapatios.com )). Seems
you can't get good Mexican food in New York.

The goal is to keep the frame from rusting during the construction phase. Once the mock up is complete Jay from Pro-Tek Powder
coating will be powder coating the frame.

I am really happy with the new look of the stock subframe.

My little helper is always willing to lend a hand.

2nd Chance Camaro - Body Shell in Primer

2012 01-10 Update - Body Shell in Primer
      Posted: Jan 13, 2012 www.2ndchancecamaro.com

      Good Evening all,

Mario and the guys at US Collision primed the shell over the weekend. I can't tell you how happy I am with them. If you need
anything done to your car and your local Mario is the man.

Here is the great one doing his version of the "Thinker" pose.

Inner wheel tubs are removed as the car will be getting a set of DSE mini-tubs. Not going all the way to the 335's but
want to have plenty of room for the BFG KDW2 -- 295's.

I also have to thank Ron from www.hoodpins.net for finding this car for me. It sure is nice to have a rock solid shell.

Billet 2nd Gen Front Mount Battery TrayPosted: Jun 20, 2011 www.2ndchancecamaro.comGood Morning all,It's amazing what collects inside of these cars. Hard to believe the passenger side was full of vegetation and it had little more then surface rust. So far I am very happy with this car.Top side of the Quarters have some surface rust. Shouldn't be a problem for the media Blaster. All that is left for me to remove is the rear bumper and Deck lid. Then I can actually start mocking things up on the car. I can't wait !!At some point in this cars life it took a little hit to the drivers side rear. The body work they did back then was not that good as you can see in the pictures below. It's hard to tell in this picture but the floor still has a wrinkle in it.New Project - Billet Battery Tray ( www.hoodpins.net)Since this car is truly going to be a driver and I really couldn't care less about putting the battery in the trunk. I wanted a nice billet battery tray up front to put an optima battery in. So I called up Ron at www.hoodpins.net and told him that we need to make a billet battery tray. He agree and off he went to his computer. Here are a couple pictures of the prototype. If there is enough interest I will make a few extra for people.Pictures hosted by www.garagescene.net
Do you have any more battery trays for sale? They are awesome.
