New Upper Mounts for the Radiator (( 08-17-20 ))

Time to make a better mouse trap.

I decided to go in a new direction with how the radiator was secured in place. Keeping with the "KISS Principle - Keep It Stupid Simple" I decide to make a flat bracket they will attach directly to the Core support with rubber Well Nuts.

And I might as well have Dennis "High Speed Welding" create a different way to mount the fan shroud.

      Test Fitting the Radiator (( 08-26-20 ))

Now that the Afco "Direct Fit" Radiator is home and modified so it will work I might as well test fit it.

Billet Optima Front Mount Battery Tray. (( 09-07-20 ))

Since I plan to drive this car and really don't want the hassle of having a battery in the trunk. Ron from Wilson Muscle Cars and I designed a factory fit Billet Tray for the battery. Actually it was my idea and Ron drew it up and I had TJ make a few of these.

Since I am running the Anvil Carbon/Fiberglass Inner fenders. I can't use the inner fender to support the battery tray in the front. So my solution is to drill a hole in my inner fender and run a support rod up from the Core Support bracket.

Marty, are the two brackets you made for the sides of the radiator the only things holding it up?

It's actually resting on the factory rubber pads on the bottom.

      Moving to my next project.

I don't have many wires that I want to label so as much as I want the really nice label maker I am going to do it the poor
man way. So off to Office Depot to Dymo Label maker for $40.00 and some clear heat shrink tubing.

There is a grommet it's just not on the firewall yet as I know I have at least two more wires to run and I am making all of them first and then I will install the grommet. I would love to be able to use one of the grommets with the tail on so I know there will be no water coming in.

On a side note yesterday when I was mocking up the steering column I notice daylight so I put added a blue-tape note to make sure I sealed that area up.

Actually it's a vinyl material and on the larger wires I was able to wrap it around the wire and then slide the heat shrink over it. On the smaller wires I slid it inside the heat shrink and then slid it over the wire.

Doing great Marty! I wish I had your patience and detail!

      Google OTC 5955 & Lisle 55000

Also, I think you have a magnetic base for a dial indicator? You could use that along with a hose clamp on vise grips/spring clamps..

One of the benefits of the DEI X-Mat is you can push the weld studs into and make a perfect circle. I will be mounting the Holley Relays to these studs.

      A Wiring Specific Tool Box (( 09-19-20 ))

Since I will be planning and running the wiring in the car it is time to put everything wiring in it's own tool box. So years ago I bought two of these toolboxes from Sears in a close out sale for $60.00 each assembled. They have been sitting in my warehouse for years and I have finally found the perfect use for one of them.

Trust me fitting up this folding shelf was not planned and the fact that it was a relief.

      Removing the Atomic 4L60E Transmission (( 09-19-20 ))

Now that I know how the trans fits and the fact that I will need to redo the trans crossmember. I am going to remove the trans so I can install
the fitting for the trans cooler lines. Plus it will open up the are under the car so I can get some work completed under the car.

I will be replacing these fittings so I can use the Holley PFT line with AN fittings

Oddly enough I couldn't convince Mike to be under the rack while I lowered it down.
