Although it may seem that Sam only works on our 66 and wagon not to mention slaving on house projects, he does do some other things on the side. In order to earn money for parts he is doing an engine swap/rebuild on a 1998 Grand Prix for a guy I work with. Not glamorous, but good experience.

I spy 3100 - probably has bad lower intake gaskets and it barfed coolant all into the oil and ruined the bearings....

      Ask me how I know...

Cool project Sam, can't wait to see how it turns out. Helped a buddy do a 66 LS1 conversion a while ago, really made me appreciate how well built the A bodies were. If there is any way I can help let me know. Ron

OT warning......I was a GM FWD fan before I got into the LSx RWD world...

I was building a 1994 Beretta Z26 - a 3400 V6 motor out of a 99+ Pontiac Grand Am - 5 speed manual transmission out of 1992 Beretta with a 3.1L v6 in it... but I digress - I was poor at the time and FWD was all that I could afford... LOL!

The Z26 I had had a 3100 in it and had a leaky lower intake gasket, the 99 Grand Am I owned during grad school had a 3400 in it, and it leaked too - So I've torn the top end of those motors off several times and replaced the crappy plastic gaskets that GM used.

I hope he bought the metal Fel-Pro gaskets that replace the LIM gaskets. I used them and never had another leak.

      Back to the original topic!!

Looks like you're getting a nice supply of parts coming in Sam. You gonna work your tail off during the break? I'm sure you will.
Take a few minutes to step back and admire you accomplishments along the way, you'll remember it.

Thanks Ron, most of what we do is A body stuff. One of these days we will venture out into building other types of PT cars. Thanks for the offer to help!

New kicks for the four door

Thanks to Randy Johnson (D&Z Customs) for making my us a deal that we couldn't refuse on these Forgeline ZX3 wheels. They're 18x9" front and 18x11.5" rear. So, we'll definitely have to channel the frame and tub it now as opposed to later. Thanks to my parents, Randy and the rest of my family who will give me money instead of gifts for Christmas these will be sitting under the tree on Christmas morning.

ZX3 with polished lips and satin black centers
