Because this Camaro is on a DIET!!

Yep, as if she wasn't fast enough in her leaf-sprung Camaro, Autocross Maven Mary Pozzi is giving her F-body a full makeover.

The plan is to ditch the 383 SBC and Richmond trans in favor of an LS engine and T56 Magnum six-speed. And the weight savings won't stop there thanks to a stack of carbon fiber parts from Anvil Auto.

Mary also thought that, since the car would be all apart, it was the perfect time to stip the body down and add a fresh coat of paint.. will it be red? Orange? Blue? The jury's still out, but it's going to look way better.

There's also talk of mini-tubs, but she is firmly set on keeping her leaf spring suspension.

The crew at JCG Restorations will be doing the makeover and the general plan is to have the Camaro back on the road in a few months. Look for updates here and a there will be an LS install story in a future issue of Camaro Performers Magazine.
