Wow!!! Had no idea this car had such a following. It's been a very fun and busy week with the engine/trans install for the story and then the teardown. After tomorrow, there will be a shell and that's it!! Media blasting will tell us what ugly lurks within.

Cris at JCG is incredible with the design and fabrication skills needed to get this project done. From my observation, it's about 80% easy but that other 20% can be a PITA. Having someone alongside that's done this swap is highly recommended.

All the OEM bits and panels that are being replaced with Anvil panels or not used are in the trailer and will be weighed when I get home. Most of these bits are from the front of the car so anything taken from there will only improve the front-to-rear balance. Before the liposuction began, the car was 55-45 percent weight balance and this sucked.

And yes, I hear you about leaving tradition and joining the LS army but couldn't pass up that weight savings. For the Richmond trans, I was pretty happy with the shifting but then again I didn't have much to compare to. For me, if the shifter moves and gears follow, that's okay.

The Camaro will stay with leaf springs.

The color will be Inferno Orange with carbon fiber special striping.

      Can't wait!!

It's the LS2 that came out of Steve Rupp's Camaro. With all the cool changes, I now have to figure out how to drive this thing ...

That reminds me ... I have to come up with something "different" for this year's OUSCI. This can't be planned as our conversations are very spur of the moment ... LOL.

I'm sure it will be entertaining and to answer your question, there will be some talking involved.

      Cheers,

Your car has a very large following. For me I really like it as it's not a crazy high dollar car but still runs and handles great.

Cars like Bad Penny are awesome, but that level is out of reach for a lot of people, where your car runs great with leafs and is a more budget friendly G-Machine and shows what can be done without a ton of funds.

That was to be a suprise so they would think you had a stock LS3 and then you would unleash the fury of the 402.. ;)

I've liked it every time you've let me drive your car ... LOL.

The car's moving away from the budget build but still reflects the basics and that they can work. Paint and prep plus the lightening strategies are what's taking it there but after looking at the bad body work hiding a massive attack of rust, it had to be done this way.

Throw some Clear Armor along the sides when done and we'll be scaring pylons in no time.

I also pulled the accelerator pedal and hinge out. We thought it would be funny to offer it up on eBay and if anyone bought it, to give all the money to Larry C. for the Pro-Touring Dinner. It's the 10th anniversary of this cool event and this would be a fun thing ...

I'll post up the link after thinking of some funny chit to go along with the auction. "Stick, you B***h" stickers will also be included ... LOL.

What's cool is it still is a car that most anyone can recreate and have fun with. Basic suspension, steering, and brakes. Wheels and tires. A ZZ383 is fairly expensive and if you shop right, you can pick up a good LS engine and trans from a wrecking yard. If your car has good paint, you're there.

      It's getting bad now ...
