Okay an watching this build like a hawk.

Would it be possible to get pics from the side of the edlebrock headers. I am curious to see how low they hang. re: do they hang lower then the frame ?

They're close and once the car starts going back together, I'll post up pics. If your car isn't too low nor too softly sprung, you should be fine. These headers are NICE.

      Cheers and heading south now,

Would you suggest the same suspension setup for a 1st gen?

Cat V leafs, Hotchkis front springs and arms? Mostly street driven, but I want it to handle well within a budget.

You may find the CAT5's slightly rough riding for the street. Dave hates them but I love the ride. Both Hotchkis and Global West have good street leafs that are stiffer than stock and will lower the car about 1.5 to 2 inches. Companion them with other bolt-on suspension parts, you should have a fun car.

Once you narrow down your suspension, you'll probably have more questions and feel free to ask away. The good thing is it isn't rocket science.

I think you would like the Hotchkis rear leafs, or anything equivalent that uses rubber bushings in the front leaf eyes. We ran Mary's car with them for a couple of years and they worked well. She felt the rear was a bit soft with them so we tried the Cat5's, then she softened the shocks to where we had nearly as much rear movement as before!

I just want to give a big shout out to Mary and Jenny, it's because of you guys that I'm comfortable and happy to be sticking to leaf springs in the design of my custom S10 blazer. Granted they're going to be Afco reinforced front segment Chrysler style leafs with sliders, leaf spring are leaf springs!

The collectors and the front edge of one of the tubes on the passenger side are just below the frame on mine-- that's with their headers and mounts. I'll try to snap a shot of mine tomorrow.
