      Dogs.

      I don't get it.

He spent a total of 4 hours today being punished for swimming in the pond, eating a pair of shorts, scratching at doors, stealing meat off the counter and knawing at what was once a perfectly good pair of Trans Am seats....

....yet I just turned all soft and fussed him.

If that was a relative, a child or any other human being I'd have been pissed off until October.

Why do they make you so much of a girl?

It's the puppy dog face. No matter how old they get, they still have it. And it WORKS. EVERY F&*^%NG TIME!!

      They know it too.

      Basturds.

I need to go pet mine.

      I need to taser mine.

I won't though.. I'll end up giving it my burger instead. :(

Ours is a 7.5 month old Malamute. It still has that puppy dog face...even the postman finds it cute while he's running away.

Mine just barked at me until I gave her my seat to watch TV. They are damned annoying, but you can't stay mad at them. I don't know why.

      Damned dog.

I stay mad and they don't like me because I do. I have a blond lab mix we rescued from the shelter. He's such a pain but better now that he's grown up a bit. I calmed him down. I got the wife a mini-Schnauzer for Christmas year before last. He rules the roost. Poor Max (lab mix) doesn't stand a chance with Gunner (better known as Poot to me). That little b$stard doesn't back down for a minute. He wears him out. Since we got Poot ole' Max is a much calmer dog.

      So far-

      An entire blueberry pie

      2 loaves of bread

An entire bucket of KFC ($250 for X rays there..)

Entire package of sweet/hot beef jerky

a full package of gourmet carmels

1/2 a sack of rice (uncooked)

2 packages of dry soup mix

      1 box Macaroni and Cheese

      1 can of Pringles chips

2 pairs of leather baby shoes

A veggie tray w/ ranch dip

and a slew of other stuff I can't recall at the moment.

But how can you get mad at a face like this?

We had our dog sneak back into the kitchen via the locked rear stairs, (he learned how to turn round doorknobs with his mouth that day) and he brought down the turkey that was cooling off on top of the oven.
The damn dog ate about 12 pounds off a 25 pound bird that just came out of the 400* oven, in about 3 minutes.
We couldn't hit him either... I think the dog was a hypnotist in a prior life....

Ha ha! Mine used to be a big toilet paper terrorist, but she finally got over it. Mostly she's into eyeglasses, remote controls, and cell phones. Shoes, books, and loose paper are big favorites too.

When I was three, my house burned down and only one thing survived...A book of Norman Rockwell praintings. I kept that book until I was 27 when my $%^&*!!! Labrador Retriever tore it to shreds(She was 2 then) She is now 9, (because I didn't kill her) man that dog destroys so much stuff, gets into trouble, barks at the wind, but I am glad to have her around...gray face and all!

And while I wrote that last post, she pulled a bunch of magazines with II Much in it from the bookcase and started to chew on them.

Now I *am* pissed at her.

This is Charlie and Bandit. They are our "camp dogs" here in Iraq. They are completely spoiled and know it. I fear what will happen to them if we leave them here. I'm trying to coordinate funds and an organization that helps out in these cases.

Seems I remember seeing something on TV about an organization that helps soldiers bring dogs back. I wish I could remember more. You can't leave those pups there! Just look at them Not to mention they have tasted the good life! Thank you for that and your service!

Thanks Don. These pups have tasted the good life. We have guys with kids, dogs of their own, and other things they love dearly back in the states. These doggies are a way of keeping a little sanity over here and they get treated very well. It's something you can connect with, bond with and love, all in the midst of a war weary situation. We owe it to them to bring them home.

You tell your buddy Lou Santiago that a fellow NSW Seabee is trying to get this done. He had the same rate (job or M.O.S.) as I do, Construction Mechanic.

I also work for the same "organization" that he did when he was in the Navy. Maybe he could use that star power of his to bring more awareness to this cause if need be.
