This is the first I've seen this thread. Isn't it funny how you can miss stuff for so long on here? Great work! Thanks for sharing.

You do some amazing work! Hopefully by the time I'm out of school I can design things half way as good as you can! Keep up the good work!

And I'm glad you kept the Pontiac motor, there's already too many LS powered pro touring cars haha

      Subframe in place. Permanent!

Slightly nervous since I didn't test fit it between welding and painting. Approximately 13ft of welding total so I was nervous that it would have warped. However, it slipped right in. Like a glove!

I made my own guide pins. Instead of having to align the subframe against the body, the subframe is now self aligning.

      Some fasteners for the subframe

      And the subframe:

And in the same moment the subframe sat there, I couldn't wait... i just had to start assemble everything else...

First out was my rack and pinion from a Ford Sierra, shortened 8" (200mm), gun drilled shaft to save weight and new mounting points to the subframe.

      Thanks guys!
      Getaway in Stockholm, lol.

Andrew: I'm running the same drive train as I did before. A 400cui, a LT1 T56 and a centerforce 11" clutch. I know those things works (since I used them before) and I'll probably be busy tuning the chassis during the next years so sorting out a drive train would be nice to avoid.

There are some new parts though - a 3.5" aluminum drive shaft and the Ford 8.8 carrier (from the lincoln Mk VIII rear suspension).

      Some more pics!

      Some updates...

Having a hard time to decide what type of gas cap I'm going to use...
I'm aiming for a classic 60s look but the modern cap is kind of cool too. It'll probably destroy the classic look, so I'll probably end up with the Le Mans style cap anyway.

      Uprights...

The upper A-arm being fabled. I made a real stable weld fixture since the arms are the first thing to break/bend if you run out of asphalt.

It's hunting season on heavy stuff... Lightweight bolts... Every ounce counts :D

Uprights, center bolt axle and A-arms finally finished and together. It's starting to look like a car!

And I got on the cover feature of Speedhunters Creators Theme too! That was a really great feeling! They must have gotten hundreds of e-mails with crazy projects and they chose mine! I still can't believe it.

The speedhunters article is here: http://www.speedhunters.com/2014/11/...reators-theme/

      Thanks guys!

      Here are some more updates.

Made some spacers for my rod ends. 28pcs to be exact...
Hand made in the lathe so it took some time to get them all.

Just an overview on the rear suspension. I'm gonna take the de dion down to do some smaller mods on it. Probably a good idea that I left it in primer...

Front suspension one step closer being done:

285's up front on a 10" rim. 10,5" rear with same width.

      And reality vs. CAD

Did you build some camber into the spindles?

How will you change the alignment?

When you post pictures, can you size them bigger, maybe 1000 pixels wide? I think most people have high res monitors these days and the detail would be appreciated. :-)
