Silver is the bullet proof color. When my bike was silver i would wash it with dove dish soap and dry it , looked awesome. fine scratches are invisible.I didnt realize how bad dark colors are until my dark green car, it always looks like someone took 000 steel wool to it! Pearl white or silver for my next project.

Yeah, any mild metallic color hides flaws quit well. I have a black vehicle now and it will be the last black one I own! Black looks awsome clean but any little scratches or some dirt and it looks awful.

If I was doing a modern pt 69 camaro I would do silver on top ,charcoal on the bottom, with a thin metallic orange stripe dividing the top and sides. But i want to make my 69 look like a vintage racer on the street and the silver/black/orange seems too hi tech.grey stripes look great on silver cars ,and grey or black wheels.I guess you realize i like the color!

vanzuuk, I was just thinking of doing the opposite (charcoal on top, silver bottom).. but right now leaning toward a single wide charcoal stripe down the middle (top) of the car.

Thanks guys for the compliments, This silver is actually the same color on the'' Sick Fish" that troy trapanier did for Joe Rogen. The color outside takes on a whole new look. It took a long time to pick the right silver, or at least the silver I liked.

Im loving this camaro more and more. Like ive posted in his other pic threads. This is even more inspriring for me to paint mine. Helps me visualize my own car in silver. Beautiful work on the paint job too. Its going to be incredible when buffed even though I would drive it just like that and be happy.
I know what you mean about picking the silver color. I looked for 2 years and couldnt find the silver I wanted. I finally did a few weeks ago while looking thru a 2005 paint book. I dont want to mention the color yet because I want to be the first silver car with this color. Oh mine will also have silver pearl too.

      Buddy you draw well.

Not to hijack, but is there a trick to hiding the fine scratches on a dark color without wet sanding and buffing?

Looks great!! I've been trying to decide on the right shade of silver for my 68 convertible (black top and interior). I've only found a couple of shades that I really like, one being a 1997 Isuzu silver. Just a shade darker than Cortez.

The tough thing about picking a silver is that they all look the same until you compare the paint chips side by side.

      Nice choice!
