1967 Firebird...3 years to post some pics...

These pictures where taken last week after mocking up wheels and brakes...

I went the used c5 z06 route via a wreck part out for rotors and calipers, and picked up brackets, lines and hardware from Kore3... thanks Tobin (excellent customer service... your phone bill must be insane)

I picked up my hubs from DEIGuy38 and he ended up hooking me up with a set of new stock multipacks for the hell of it. Figure I owe a few days hard labor for that...thanks Guy!

as for the wheels went the cheap BMW after market route... Stern St11's in the 18x9.5 and 18x 8.5 flavor. I may be cheap but I did wrap them in 245/40 and 275/40 Bridgestone Potenza RE-11's.

Like I said this is just a mock up but I figured I would share my build since the only place it was ever posted in here was in the for sale section after a really bad payroll. please forgive me for that one guys.

The motor and tranny are in and done (for now) it's a pontiac 400 with the performance basics( cam, intake, holly hp850, msd, balanced low end rebuilt 670 heads, headers X pipe, and spin techs) with a muncie putting the power to the ground. The car has run for a few years now, As soon as the suspension and brakes are done, I'll move on to insulation, headliner, and windows.

The car is looking good James. I need to get by there and take a look at it. I may take you up on that hard labor, I just started stripping the paint off my car.

Sweet Ride!!! Question: 1st is that a pontiac rear axle? 2nd what is the offset on the back wheels, if it is? I have a friend who wants to put Boss 338 18x9.5 in the rear of his 68 Firebird and I told him they might stick out a little. I have the Boss 338 rims 18x9.5 but I have a GM 8.5 rear with 29.5" axle length. His Pontiac has 30" axles which will cause them to stick out further than mine. Well kinda even with the wheel well.

Nice Firebird! What color blue is that? Paint code? Any more pictures? I'd really like to see some in better light.

      Thanks

Good looking car. It almost looks like the exact same color I went with for my 68 Bird.

The way I went about finding the color was practical but I kinda screwed up... I think

I spent two months looking at every blue car I could, every make, model, year ect. It came down to blue's off of these cars:

      2003ish 350z
      2005up corvette
      2006ish honda civic si blue

Frankly the 350z color seemed to bright, the corvette seemed to have no life no flip just dark blue. The civic si blue seemed close as it gave a flip and went really dark in the low lights and really bright in the highlights. However, I didn't want to go around harboring the dark secret that I painted my Muscle car honda civic blue. So, I went to a local paint supply and had them pull the paint chip up for me in a book and I went like 4 chips darker in the same row. However they gave me a code for a specific brand as I was looking at that brands book. So I do have the code and I as soon as I get home this weekend I will scan it as a image and upload it...

      Very cool!

Those rims are off a BMW?

How much did you end up putting in the brakes? Love to hear more about the install.

      nice car.

Have you got the paint code yet? And where did you buy the rims?

I have a 71 pontiac T-37 lemans that I'm rebuilding and I realy like the colour and rim design on your car and I think it might look good on th T-37.

      Thanks

The car is looking nice. Good choice on paint and wheels, and the blacked out tail panel too!
