      69 Firebird with 67 front bumper,anyone has pics ?

I'm debating if I should build custom bumper off the 69 bumper or build a custom bumper based off 67 bumper, I want to get rid of the plastic and rubber junk the 69 front has with nicely tucked custom bumper and finish up the front with custom air dam/spoiler/valance .I'm planning to paint the bumper and get rid of chrome.

So does anyone have pics of 67 bumper on 69? TIA

      Stefan

Not the best pics or fit since they're race cars. But done right I think it could look good.

Oh, I'm 100% set on doing it, I just need to find a decent core and come up with nice looking front air dam

We talked about this a while back and what I thought would look good also but more work dealing with the recess areas on the hood, would be to use a 70 nose. Pretty much not doable without major, major modification but that is the nose I like.

So how did they do it back then? BTW, I've never seen a 69 bird in a Trans Am race! that's really cool.

That kinda reminds me of a GTO front bumper with the Hidden Headlights, maybe that is what you need to start with....

I love the look too. Wish someone would make it out of fiberglass and sell it! I'm currently re-doing my 69 firebird and I wish I had the extra time to make a custom bumper.

GTO style hidden headlights in a 69 Firebird

I know this is an old thread, but I'm in the process of making two 67/68 bumpers into a 69 bumper. It will have the hidden headlight look of a 68 GTO. Good progress so far, grill inserts are a bear to fabricate. Also had to fabricate my own headlight brackets to mount the headlights deeper in the bumper so I could recess the grill for a factory look.

      Bit of a long shot….

Louie29445 I know this is a long shot but are you still active on this site? This is exactly what I’m in the process of doing and I’d love to pick your brain a bit if possible, thanks!
