      procharger C3 corvette (good news)

I havent done a very good job in keeping people up to date but i finally did figured out my engine thanks to Hi Tech's help out of Elk River MN. We strapped her down to the dyno and ran some pulls. Ran 530 to the wheels after we dropped jet sizes like crazy @ 5600rpms. We had to stop after a leak was found in the intake gaskets spewing oil out the front and back. Found out I had the wrong valve springs in the engine thanks to Brian @ Hi Tech. He hinted at the springs from the dyno graph. (floating) Turns out they were hydraulic springs set up with a solid roller cam which nosed over on the top end. Fixed it and it has been running so damn good with a CSU carb on top. Hitting 7k rpms really well. Thank God Its finally working I was gonna go fuel injected but the carb is working so well now that it is a keeper. Last summer was great. Cranked the timing like Kevin said another 6 degrees past what we did on the dyno and ran her to 7 k and the power came on wonderfully. What great support from CSU and Hi Tech!!!! Kevin Van Noy is the man and knows his E85 blow through carb setups. I have to say thanks for his advice and Hi Techs dyno. This year I can't wait to start upping boost!!!!

Since then I have had TNT specialites put in a 4 point chromoly roll cage and some suspension work. Im wondering what you guys think of running two Aeromotive A 1000's in series to support future horsepower with upping the boost on the procharger to ensure there is enough fuel?

I will get a new dyno this spring with video. Im sure it will be much more than 530.

Nice car. Glad to hear you got the issues sorted out. So you're running E85 through a blow through carb? You should send an email to some magazine editors, especially vette mags, about the car. Through in a pic or two and see what they say(one car one engine pic). Personally I think that's something worth writing and reading about.

I've been running my Prochargerd 'vette for 3 years now. Best RWHP so far is 555, that is with a baby cam. I have just this week up-sized the cam a bit. Dyno time again soon.

thanks, I have been wanting to send a few pics to a magazine. I might just do that this summer after I have finished the custom interior inside and tubular suspension goods. I really want to uncork this blower this summer and move past this 14 lbs of boost in running to something much higher. The heads are o ringed and receiver grooved. Im sure it could take 18lbs Im thinking on 8.4 to 1 CR? Ill have to see how the engine responds to this on the next dyno session coming summer. I want to add another A1000 in series to support the fuel and add a billit fuel pump controller to it as well. May have to add a digital ignition with a programmable curve that is boost referenced though. (I have been kicking this idea around for a bit.) Then Id like to get her on Brainerd International Raceway. Then get some track time and unleash this car on the straightaways in a safe environment. This car really does move out with this blower.

Classic pro touring supercar is what Im aiming for.

Big G-- I thought you put in that bigger cam last summer, let me know the numbers when you get em. Also why not up the boost on the blower?

The cam I put in last summer (230*/236*/114*) replaced the 242*/248*/110* cam I had in previously. I now have a more "blower friendly" cam (244*/248*/114* with .619/.608 lift). I am expecting this will put me at 600 RWHP. I am at 15 lbs. boost now (on the street), but have a pulley and belt for 20 lbs, if necessary....I will be happy at 600 ...not gonna try to go above that, as reliability will start to become a real issue.

thats pretty much what im aiming for to is in the 600 ish to the wheels range, but I may just add a 75 to 100 shot on top of it to take care of a few local guys I know this summer. I think 600 is really easy to hit with these type of cam and blower combination. I may already be there before the boost add. Ill find out soon enough.

I run this setup and it works great. I highly recommend it. Mine is currently supporting an F1-r on a 482 FE making 720 to the rear wheels on pump gas.

no problems at all. you will want to make sure you get a controller setup that can turn the second pump on at a certain level of boost.
