      corvette LS alternator ?

What is the difference between the alternators with the clutches (on the front of the pulley) or without them? The newer ones have them 06+ and the older ones don't. Any info would be appreciated.

I wondered the same thing. I seem to recall GM had an issue with throwing the serp belts off the C6 vettes so maybe that was the fix?? I have an LS3 in my chevelle and I bought one of the C5 units. Not running yet so can't tell you if I made the right choice.

One has a clutch and the other doesn't.

I am using one for a C6 since I figure there would be no issues with my GMPP harness.
