Putting two and two together, I think filming either started or was shot yesterday.

Did you expect anything other than it being a joke (not trying to be a smart butt - just curious)? I haven't ever seen Top Gear US try to be serious about any vehicles or shootouts. At least the Brit Top Gear does a few serious car segments...I hoped TGUS would do the same. You gotta admit though, its still cool!

No.. didn't expect more.. but I did expect for them to do what they said they would do when they asked for the car to be there.. they are lucky I wasn't there or I would have put it back in the trailer and went home.. lol..

And yea, still cool.. but far and away NOT any sort of "shootout" between the cars..

I guess I will stick with track days.. no script to follow.. ;)

That sucks. I enjoy the show for its entertainment value but would love to see someone who actually knows what they are doing in the car to give an honest review of it. It IS after all one of the premier cars in the PT world.

What were they supposed to do Steve? I was hoping to see a shootout as well but I'm guessing it'll be months before the episode airs.

Track days are always the best and most fun anyway1

Well.. we sort of thought it would a performance deal.. but it was just TV for the masses.. I had a LONG talk with the Top Gear Producer and he's a really nice guy.. explained to me how they are told the do the show.. less for us true "technical" gearheads and more for the average Joe that likes cars, but really just wants to be entertained.. if you notice Top Gear US no longer does the track testing stuff like they do in the UK.

In any event, I feel it will be fun show, but not the "putting pro-touring cars" to the test.. heck, the network makes them call our stuff "restomods" and not Pro-Touring since that's what the masses can relate to.

Look forward to seeing, and hearing, Penny in high def

The track testing is my favorite part of Top Gear UK...

I look forward to seeing and hearing Penny in HD too!

I know Big Red Camaro would love to be involved with Top Gear US or British version.

I don't know what the fuss is all about. The cars got to be on TV, which is cool.

If you all want "shootouts" that's what youtube is for. There are excellent channels, like Drive and Motor Trend, that do an excellent job of showing cars in action. ( I was trying to find the new Z28 vs. Brian Finch video...but can't seem to locate it.

      I don't know about a new Z/28 vs Finch video. There's a vid of a ZL1 vs Mark Stielow's Red Devil. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=64-Y2Hvnfrg

Maybe this vid is what you're referring to?

I don't know about US Top Gear, but I know I'd like to see BP on Big Muscle with Mike Musto taking it for a cruise.

/BigMuscle has had their fill of Camaros for a while. When/if they feature another it likely won't be a build that is 5+ yrs old.
