88 Corvette seats in my 71 Firebird project. I liek these as I can use the factory sliders, they give me near 2 inches of extra headroom and you can buy new foams already covered in leather that just clip into the back and base buckets. Plenty of leg room, and with the thinner seat backs, there is extra rear seat leg room.

I just got a set of the E30 seats for my car as I love the old school look of them. Were you able to use existing brackets from another brand of seat to get them to fit? If not, do you have any pics of the brackets that you made to bolt them in?

      Thanks,
      Kerry

      Kerry,

The e21 seats are genuine Recaros. LS might be the correct model number, but I am not sure to be honest. If you have E30 seats, I believe they are made by Recaro for BMW. Help me out here, are the bases removable? If so, can you get bolt spacing left to right and front to rear? I can check my brackets and see if they are identical.

FYI, I am using OE Recaro sliders on Wedge Engineering brackets.

Yes, the bases are removable. The bolt spacing doesn't line up perfectly, but I noticed that I haven't mentioned it before that I have a 66 chevelle. Please let me know if your brackets are identical or not. I'll check on the Recaro sliders.

      Thanks,
      Kerry

      Kerry,

Your "brackets"... Are you talking about the E30 ones? I am not using any of the stock BMW brackets. Just a heads up, I am out of town for the holiday, but when I return, I actually have one of my seats out at the moment. Shouldn't be too hard to measure. The Recaro Sliders bolted right up to the e21 seats. Just needed to space them up a bit to allow the seat to slide fore/aft. The Wedge brackets were made specifically for my car as well.

Thanks for the clarification. I'll verify whether the BMW brackets are removable. Once I have your measurements and if the brackets come off, I'll give Wedge a call.

      Thanks again,
      Kerry

I run the ProCars as well. I did not use the mounting brackets. Just modified the adjuster rails to mount them. This dropped them 3" or so.

      Kerry,

Here is a link to the brackets for your car. These Wedge brackets will mount OE Recaro sliders. The main question is whether or not the E30 seats have the same bolt spacing for mounting as your typical aftermarket Recaro.

You are correct in that I'm hoping the mounting is the same. Once I have measurements from your seats, I plan to run outside and compare them to mine to see if they are the same.

Here are some pics of my new seats from Arizen. The second pic looks that way because of the bright sunlight! The seats are really red and black. I am also using the Morris 3 point seat belts.

Lot of nice aftermarket setups here. I had to comment because I really like the reupholstered 3 series Recaros. They really blend well. I Went with some more modern looking Recaros, and have no complaints, they're quite comfortable.

      Seats in 69 Camaro

These are not in mine yet, but I have purchased a set front and rear to install in my 69 Camaro. I think they look the best and are by far more comfortable and are 8 way power self contained. They are GTO seats from a 2004-2006.
