there will be a live broadcast on hotrod.com today. Very strong rumor that it will be broadcast from Newton today. My dad received a request for as many cars from his club as they could get to the track for the announcement and a group shot.

I'm not sure I consider a starting point in Iowa any love for the west coast folks. That's still roughly 1500 miles from the LA area, and 1800+ miles back from Mobile, AL.

haha, sorry Steve, it totally went over my head.

I totally agree, and would bet that a rival magazine or website could fill the void created by Hot Rod's aversion to the west coast. Nothing wrong with starting small either.

This is why a sarcasm font is need to stop the confusion.

There was a time when the Power Tour started from the west coast. Oh well I guess we aren't worthy.

Did my first Power Tour this year. Unfortunately, I had to do it in my Plan B car as the Richmond 6 speed in my '77 Camaro conked out on me about 3 1/2 hours from home. My neighbor and his wife rescued me and brought us the Plan B car on their trailer.

We had a good time on the tour and did the Long Haul. It was really hot and humid the last four days but, overall, it was great.

I started a blog to record our daily activities on the tour. If you are interested, it can be seen at: http://jerryforthofer.wordpress.com/
