      20 year old Turbo

I recently purchased a 1972 Datsun 240Z that "ran when parked" 20 years ago....
I pick it up in a few days and this is what I know so far:

      240Z Head
      280Z Block
      Cartech Turbo
      Holley 4 Barrel Carburetor
      4 Core Radiators
      Electric Fan

I want to try and get it runnung while I collect parts for a V8 conversion.

Anything special I need to do with the turbo before initial startup try ???

Pull the hot side apart and make sure the housing and wheel is not too rusty with scale, which would cause it to bind and possibly break. You can clean rust off with some muratic acid if you do it quickly, just don't get it on the aluminum!
Also check the cold side for dirt dobber nests and other debris.

I saw this one on CL... I thought they were asking alot of money for a "ran when parked" car... What V8 are you going to put in it? LSx??

The body is in great shape... I got the price down where I was comfortable with the price/ shape of chassis ratio.....
I haven't made up my mind on which V8 to go with yet... $$$ is going to come into play....
You're welcome to see it when I get it home....
      shmoove69, thanks for the advice...

My vote is for an Rb25T swap. Yes, everyone talks about the Rb26TT, but I have seen an Rb25t in a 240sx and it was very sweet. Super smooth, neat sound, made 350rwhp and had instant boost.

Lets see some pictures of this find!
