    Default Project BLUEprint, 1965 Falcon

    Project BLUEprint.

    The name is from my engineering back ground and the amount of engineer and design work that has gone into this car. The car is BLUE and will be my future template if I ever try to sell some stuff I have designed and fabricated for this car.


    I thought i would create a project update to keep myself organized and show off the car.

    I have done all the work with my dads help in his garage. It was my first car and has been a 9yr project.


    current progress:
    SBF pushing 375hp reving 6600rpm.
    C4 automatic with red alto steals kolene clutches and a reverse manual valvebody and a 6 gear planetary.
    custom aluminum dash and steering column.
    wilwood front discs.
    i designed my own coilover front suspesnion.
    9" ford with 4.11 gears.
    lowered about 3" fornt and 2.5" in the back.
    race seats.
    bolt in aluminum radiator core support for quick engine swaps.
    16x7.5 wheels with 245 tires on all four corners.
    fiberglass front fonders and hood.
    the car weighs 2740lbs.

    current projects:
    three link rear suspension with watts link.
    rack and pinion steering.

    Cool project.. we just worked with TCI to develop a front and rear suspension for these cars (incluging a rack conversion)..

    thanks steve,

    what kinda suspension? MII and a four link?

    is the rack a rear steer? I remember hearing that a rear steer setup and achieve better ackerman affects.

    Just a FYI. As far as pics go I find its much easier to host your pictures at a place like photobucket for free then add them to your post here. You can keep a gallery of all your pics and can access them from anywhere with internet access should you need to and you can actually get a full size picture for us to see. I would love to see some bigger pics of your car.

    I think it is just the body lines messin' with your eye...I think it's sitting level.

    the rocker panels are even with the ground but the top of the rear fender is 1" lower than the top of the front fender.

    well anyways I cut the lower blocks in half so now its 1" higher and the body lines look correct.

    Not sure you can go by the fender wheel openings, because the front opening is much larger and taller than the rear.
    1970 RS/SS350 139K on the clock:
    89 TPI motor w/ 1pc rear seal coupled to a Viper T56 via Mcleod's modular bellhousing w/ hydraulic T/O bearing from the Viper, 12 bolt rear w/ 3.73 gearing, SC&C upper control arms, factory lowers with Delalums, C5 brakes at all four corners, Front Wheels 17x8's with Sumi 255/40/17 and Rear Wheels 17x9's with Sumi 275/40/17.

    not the openings but the actual body line on the top of the fender and quarter panel.

    ah...that's what I get for speed reading.....LOL

    Those vintage cars are pretty neat...really anything almost a half centry old rollin' down the highway is neat. Who am I to call it vintage?...it's the same age as me...LOL

    Ooh! Lovin' your Falcao! I dig the "NASCAR" look engine bay. Smooth! I dig the suspension and wheels too. At 2700lbs, this should be a blast of a car with 360hp. Geez! Got any incar vid with it revvign to 6600? That'd be cool!

    i dont yet. What is a good camera for that?

    i was thinking about getting one of those flip cameras, they now have them in HiDef for $140. then i could get suspension videos and anything else.

    i appreciate the help. Unfortunalty i like to post pics and stuff while i have some breaks at work. and my work comp is blocking all photobucket and sharing sites like that.

    so my solution has been to attach some pics and post full size pics in my blog which i can do at work. my sig has the blog site.

    My car won a trophy this weekend. "Best Under Construction"

    I like the set up under the hood, where did you get those strut braces and plate that is attached to the firewall?

    Nice car...like that it is something different than the norm.

    the strut tower brace is from MPG heads.
