Slow touring? Finally a thread with my name on it!

This is my nearly 100 miles a day, rain or shine, hell or high water beast. Currently pushing 232,000+ miles on original everything.

^ Big version of the one in my sig.
I've had a bunch of wheel/tire combos on it, but had to sell 'em when times got tough while putting my wife through school.

      Most recent combo:

I never really thought they fit the character of the car. But they were free (long story,) so why not?

Probably the most dramatic combo- 20x9 front 22x9.5 rear:

Looked great, but slooooowed it down something awful. Cast wheels FTL!

      And last, my favorite combo:

Wish I had more than a crappy cell phone pic of those wheels, they were nice!

      Anyways just thought I'd share.

Here is the middle ground between land yacht and Chevelle. It is big but not huge.

Stay in it till you see God....then lift

'70 Impala 4drht, 26K original miles, 2" drop springs and large swaybars, drives pretty good for a land yahct in the middle of an ls1 swap, but thinking about changing directions to a duramax diesel swap.

For those who don't know the history on these 417 cid SOHC beasts (built from '75-'80) here's a primer from Brock Yates after he thrashed it hard at Road Atlanta for 100 miles in stock form with no issues whatsoever! They are a bargain 4 dr. hot rod IF you find one that's been maintained. A good number of Euro versions were imported here via the grey market and they came with about 10% more tq and hp. http://www.m-100.cc/6point9/brochure...tes/index.html
Just uncorking the very restrictive exhaust and adding a little gearing gets them to do a low 14 sec 1/4 mile. This is one of the ultra rare AMG tweaked versions that has been additionally modded.
