A custom hood........maybe something with a 2-3 inch bumped up induction with 400 style scoops placed on the outer edges of the raised portion.

Weight? Price? Is it stock or raised slightly? (kind of hard to tell).

Stock shape and height. So far this one weighs 17lbs. I have not put a frame under it yet, then it might weigh 2-3lbs more. It is 2 layers of 6k carbon on top, Lantor Soric for a core and 2 layers of 3k carbon on the bottom. PRICE? Make me an offer.

I made a new set of scoop inserts, with the larger 6k carbon to match the hood.
I laid up the frame today and should be pulling it from the mold tomorrow.

The frame laminated to the skin, aluminum bar stock laminated in the frame for the hinge mounts. The front latch catch area is 6 layers thick of 6k carbon, latch catches and locks solid, seems good to go, but I am going to put in a steel pin on each side for the lock to ride on.

Please build a carbon fiber version of the Super 400 hood .

In my opinion one of the best looking hoods for our first generation Firebird's is the 400 hood. The Super 400 fiberglass hood currently offered by Spotts Performance is a major improvement. I would love to have a carbon fiber version of that hood, or better yet one that would give an additional inch or so clearance beyond the 1.5 inch improvement the Super 400 provides. Thanks for the web site. Doc

I voted for the 400 hood as well. I have seen a 70-76 shaker set up on a 1st gen bird and like that the most. Obviously not "correct" but neither is CF in the first place. As a bonus, the shaker could be sold for the second gen guys without developing a new part.

The 69 T/A hood was probably a good call as you would have to buy the wing and fender extractors if you bought the hood. With the 400 hood, I could see a lot of guys stopping with that.
