I knew a mechanic 25 years ago that was a big Volvo freak, he had a bunch of Volvos, an old wagon and a white 1800 with a red interior. I always thought those old Volvos were really stylish.

The funny thing was the guys last name was Buick!!!

I was really impressed with the Bill Snow Volvo.

It seems like they borrowed the styling from the early 60's Ferrari's.

      Works for me!

Unlikely they 'borrowed' early 60's Ferrari's styling, since the first car shipped on 1960. More likely, since the car was styled by Frua (Ghia), there was alot of cross-talk at styling houses. People worked for people then worked for other people.

Not the old Volvo, the proposed car this thread is about.

Here's a '61 Ferrari that sold for $10,950,000 last May.

I would have to say that car has some of the most beautiful body lines. Most of the body mods in the rendition are subtle and only highlight the lines that already exist.. I have always wanted one, and have been in the process of dealing for one in my area for awhile.. I guess I am going to have to pay what they want..ha ha.

It is hard to believe that Volvo went from that, to the boxy lines of all the later cars.. I think they should have kept a line of car that played off of that style.

Evolve doesn't even offer support for it (yet).

Back in '04 when my buddy bought his S40, I tried to talk him into a chip, DP, and full exhaust. He said, sure, if I paid for it. It appears they have expanded their line of products to cover most of Volvo's fleet.

I loved what that guy did to the Volvo wagon. His concept of the P1800 coupe is going to be amazing if he continues the quality of his previous design.

only half way.. if it's gonna be real "Pro Touring" it's gotta have a name that has at least one number in the place of a vowel.
"P1800" is like a fighter plane model designation- or a name for a production European car, which this seems to kind of be.

Having Owned a Volvo for 11 years I'll pass. I agree it's beautiful but it will be no fun with it sitting in a shop all it's life or dealing with the Check engine light glaring at you constantly.

Now give me an old one with a LS in it and that's a different story!

Technically, if you follow Volvos naming format from the time, it should be called a 4400E. (4.4L, Electronic fuel injection)
      But
      Volvo BM

      already used it for this.
