      New Volvo P1800 Concept

      Just announced

How did Volvo out Pro-Tour the big 3??
Powering the beast is a 4.4-liter V8 borrowed from a Volvo XC90 SUV that's been force-fed by a turbocharger and routes its 600 horses through a six-speed manual transmission to the rear wheels.

it needs a better name than "P1800" if it wants to be called "Pro Touring".

OMG!!! That's so right on the spot! P1800 sounds more than adequate to me!

According to a report by Auto Express, this custom Swede is slated to enter small-scale production at some unspecified date in the future.

That's because it's the same guy building it. The guy is young too... early 20s I think. Very talented builder/designer.

BTW, would P1800 be more worthy if it was making 1800 horsepower?

The wagon is cool as hell. The concept is sex on wheels.

      Indeed.

Beautiful cars, both the wagon and coupe. I'm quite fond of the P1800es, and would love to eventually get my mits on one. $4,000.00 for one in fairly decent condition. That rendering is awesome.

A good article on the Volvo 4.4L http://www.theautochannel.com/news/2...14/303081.html. "...V8 that is just 754 mm long and 635 mm wide,...weighs just 190 kg,...315 horsepower and its torque is a massive 440 Nm at 3900 r/min" seems engineered around fuel economy and emissions, I would imagine there's 0 aftermarket support for this mill.

That's not much bigger than a S2000 engine.

If I ever do my Cat 7 build I'm gonna have to seriously consider that
