      If I might sum up:

      It seems that non-T56 transmissions are favored by small blocks and big blocks, and that T56s are favored by the LSx crowd.

      IMHO, I think it could be attributed to the fact that while most on this forum want one, Gen I SBC has been made even less expensive by the LSX introduction. I'll also bet that some might still fearful of the work that goes into a swap.

      I remain a big fan of build what you have, unless there are significant reasons not to- like a hole in the block. Almost any engine can get an additional 100 hp for the cost of acquiring and installing a different engine.

      I have a sbc in the Camaro, with a mpfi system, because that car cries for a carbureted 4bl look.
