Air ride gas cap - what did you guys do about sealing the trunk?

So I went to install the air ride gas cap today... boy was that a bigger PIA than I anticipated.

Anyhow, what have others done about sealing the trunk pan. Specifically where the hose goes through the trunk to the gas tank. My stock setup had a rubber sleeve that bolted to the pan with 4 bolts and seals against the tail pain.

I was thinking I could cut my existing sleeve at the spot I've hose clamped the filler neck but thought I'd see what others have done.
