      e-curve o-rings, need them?

I have a new MSD e-curve distributor. In the directions it says to only use the 2 o-rings at the bottom of the shaft if the block has been chamfered where the o-rings and block meet. I have always used the o-rings and never chamfered those edges.

      instructions here http://msdignition.com/instructions/...?terms=e-curve Page 5

Do I use the o-rings or not?

      O-Rings

If you grease the o-rings the distributor should slip in witout tearing or damaging the o-rings, if the distributor has a adjustible collar you should measure the distance on the old distributor from the bottom of the hold down ring to the center of the oil groove and adjust the collar on the new distributor to that dimension, also with the slip collar a small amount of silicone should be usedto fill in the split in the collar or it will leak oil
