Use a combination of your jack and jack stands, jack the car up as high as you can toss jack stands under it. Toss some cribbing under the jack repeat.once your high enough toss the 2x4 stands under the tires.

Use a heavy piece of C channel to support both lower control arms with the
jack under the C channel. This way your suspension won't sag as you lift the car.

Early in this thread they talked about lifting the car up to the stands in stages. The process works best if you have built your stands in stackable segments of approximately 6" and you have built a stand or use cribbing for your jack

This may be an old thread, but it's the one o bookmarked years ago and finally came back to recently. I built some wheel cribs this week. It was a lot of cutting, drilling, and screwing but I think they are going to come in very handy.

I built mine 14x16in 8 layers tall. It tooks 64 cuts from 11 2x4s to make a set of 4 wheel cribs 8 layers tall, plus 224 #10x2-1/2 screws to put them together. A simple saw stop made the cutting go quickly. I cut 3pcs of each size from each 2x4. Predrilling and screwing took quite a while. If I had a larger framing nail gun I think that would be the way to do it much faster.

Cost of wood and hardware was about $60 from the local box store.
