Not much new. Been busy with kids and sports lately. It is getting cooler, I think the soccer and b-ball is going to mellow out. I am planning on getting back at it here this week. The mold for the hood it ready to go. I just have to get out there and do it. And, thanks for thinkin' of me

I didn't get a chance to weigh it before mounting. I can easily weigh the whole tire and rim if you want. I think someone on here would be able to tell you the weight of the tire, then we can just subtract.

Did some work on the hood mold tonight. I put another coat of paint on the mold. My goal is to lay the glass for my hood this weekend. We will see if I can break away enough to do it. I still need to do a wet sand on this before this weekend.

Thanks Wayne, I really think it is going well. Considering the only automotive field I am in is I program machines that make and test the safety airbags in the cars. The only bodywork experience I have has basically been on my car. I am your typical married with kids guy that loves cars. I really wanted something different for the hood so I figured why not. It is a lot of work, but I like it so far. Plus if it doesn't come out ok. I always have my cowl hood still.

What are you planning on doing for the hood structure under the fiberglass skin?

I plan on molding part of the framework off of my cowl hood and bonding the two together.

Been awhile since I last posted. I finally got the car back to one color. Wish I would have had time to put the tires and brakes back on for pics. But, oh well. I need to do more body work and primer anyway...

Thanks guys, it has been a long journey for me. Amazing what it does to your motivation when you finally see it one color again.

2 thumbs up on the hood! Looks really good. What kind of clearance did you end up with between your tires, tubbs and outer housing lip?

I will remeasure the clearance and let you know. I can't remember the exact numbers. I could have probably got it to fit a bit better, but I figure it is pretty good for a home job.

I agree Motown! Car looks great from that vantage point. That is probably the view most people will be seeing this car at I would imagine!!

      Looking good Sam!

      Cheers,
      Brian.

Thanks Wayne, and Brian. I really love that view also. I have several pictures of that shot in almost all stages of this build. The tires really make the car pop.

damn Sam you got a great project going there. Looks like its about ready for paint. That seems like it is one of the hardest choices to make. I told the painter I wanted my car sunset orange and ended up with two paint jobs and alittle orange! Did tell him to do what he wanted that I trusted him! Keep up the great work and really digging the custom hood.

I love the stance, are you going to roll the back lip or is there enough clearance?
