"EZ Car Lift" portable lift system

This is a local company and I was given one of their business cards at a car show this weekend. Looks interesting and is something I might be interested in buying. I like the fact that it can be easliy taken apart and transported in the trunk of a regular car. 26" of height isn't a lot, but enough to do most jobs in the garage.

      What do you guys think?

I would pass on it, personally. I would just rather use good old jackstands, but that's just me.

!795.00 seems like a lot for this. I noticed that the "power source" is stated to be a standard electric drill motor. Sounds like it is not even included. It seems pretty handy for taking to the track, but for the shop it would just get in the way most of the time, (at least in my small shop) unless you break it down after using it. That would add a lot of time to the 140 second set up time they claim.

Personally, I'll stick to ramps and stands.

That product is about $1000 overpriced in my opinion.

The first thing that jumped out at me was the price. And it's scary looking, I would still want to put jackstand underneath the car if I had one. It also looks like it blocks a lot of your access to the car's underside.

      Not worth it. I'd pass.

This reminds me of an idea I had about lifting a car. You know those wheel dollies that they have where all four wheels get placed underneath them and they each have four casters on them for wheeling a car around? What if each one of those dollies was actually a mini-jack that you could raise and lower? Make them wide enough for stability with locking casters and the maximum height set at 26 inches. It would also be safer because you would have independent support at all 4 wheels.

      No?

Pass. I just bought the biggest jackstands I could and work with a floorjack on both ends of the car to get the height I need. It takes a little time, but its cheap!

I am not useless, I can still be used as a bad example!
