One of my favorite steps is to see the motor set in place. Looks fantastic, can't wait to put mine in, real soon here. Pulley system looks perfect, like the black.

Well since I was busy spending money on other things over the holidays, I thought I would do some cheap work on the car. I grafted 69 parking lamps into a 68 standard lower valance. I was putting this off b/c I thought it would be pain to do, it really didn't turn out to be to difficult. It took me about 12 hrs or so to do. Here are some pics, I will post some pics when I finish up all the welding.

That lower valance mod always looks great on these cars. Good job!
Only 12 hrs of work to this point...OK... you talked me into it! Can't wait to see it installed. We will all be waiting for your next post. Also that well dressed 502 looks sweet!!!

Thanks, it was like everything went as planned. I looked at a couple of other people's pics that have done this before starting which helped alot. Finishing up the welding and smoothing it out will probably take a while though.

I started on my exhaust today. I bought a pypes perfomance universal x-pipe, 4 90* bends, j-bend (used for dumps), 3.5"-3" reducers, and some v-band flanges, magnaflow race series mufflers. Everything is tacked up for now, I will take it to get tig welded. I also need to weld some hangers on.

      Parts

Reducers and v-band flanges on front legs of x-pipe

x-pipe tacked and back legs trimmed

      J-bend cut for dumps

      Finished

Looks nice! Why do you need hangers with that nice green crossmember holding it all up? ;)

Your car looks sweet! Do you have a pic with the front valence on. I like how you put the '69 lights on it.

Not mounted yet waiting on the ok from the wife to buy the rest of the sheetmetal. She thinks that the U.S. will be the a depression within a yr. so it might be a while . There are a few other guys on here that have done it to their valance.

Getting a little more motivated, bought my frontend sheetmetal and hung it tonight. I will be bending and flaring my brake lines on Sat.

The hood is just lying on there so it should line up a little better after being bolted up.
