      where to mount X pipe

I have a 67 camaro with a BBC. i have a x pipe set up from summit that needs to be cut to fit lengthwise. my question is where is the optimum place to mount the X pipe, distance from header collector or wherever it should be measured from. thanks

Placement is not super critical. Put it where it fits best.

You don't want to install it too far back. When I was doing my exhaust I thought it'd be nice to have it far enough back that I could pull the tranny without moving the exhaust. Problem is that when the suspension de-weights, the drive shaft can hit the x-pipe. I'm in the process of correcting that now....
