Not trying to be devisive but I've been to the drag strip more than a time or two and dont see alot of guys with hood pins when running street cars. How often do steel hoods fly off compared to cf? Once again I'm purely curious. Wouldn't the new ZO6's have hood pins then for safety purposes?

The ZO6 has a reverse opening hood with a latch on each rear corner.

Compare that to a 60's musclecar with a fwd opening hood, a gigantic maw of a grille open to airflow, then throw 40yrs of age at the single latch and tah-dah...you have a broken windshield and all you can see are the words "noitcudni lwoc" in front of you.
