info on 9 inch rear
I recently obtained a 9 inch differential from a 65 T-bird. I have been trying to decipher the tag on it. It has the following characters:
WDE-B
3L00 5EC 406
Is there someone who can decipher it? I do know that it is a 9 inch.
It has 28 spline axles, large axle bearings and possibly a Daytona pinion carrier. The confusion comes from the info that is available. According to the Ford sites I have found the 65 T-bird should have a 9.375 diff. This diff is not 9.375 and appeared original to the car prior to cutting it out. The car is totally rotted. I am trying to establish the historic info on this diff to make sure that I properly understand just what this thing really is. Thanks in advance. Tom
