      Doug's ls1 swap headers!!!!

a user on ls1 tech said he saw some dougs ls1 swap headers for chevelles and camaros at sema. i started diggin around and found that jegs and summit stock them! wonder how they fit?

i think they are worth a try at $544 for some coated long tubes

cool. Wonder how they fit and how dependant they are on engine mounts since there are different style of mounts out there.

You're right Chad. What engine and frame mounts do the headers fit?

Hookers are right around the same price, but fitment is tough.

One thing the hookers have going for them (at least on chevelles) is ground clearance. I will hit many things long before my headers ever scrape. Wonder how the Dougs headers will compare. I also like the fact that the Dougs have the 3-bolt flange.

i was looking around i saw that trans dapt makes a new style of ls1 mounts. they are like the hooker plates but the engine mount holes are inline with the block holes. check em out.

      new trans dapt mounts

      hooker style

and lastly the S&P, carshop, and transdapt style mounts mounts

i used the hooker mounts with the hooker headers. the headers may not fit with a different mount.

It says they require engine plates with a part number of 776-SK100. But when you put that in the search field of the JEGS site it turns up nothing.

same here... i have total faith in dougs headers though. i ditched a pair of hookers on my SBC in favor of some tri-ys.

explaines why my engine sits so low in the car and the headers hang about an inch and half below the frame. (i have hookers mounts) no header hits yet and i've been driving hard.

i love your headers but i don't have $2000+ to spend on headers.maybe when my lotto numbers hit i'll splurge and buy them.

dougs headers was bought out by pertronix ignition. all the pertronix website has is the 2005 dougs catalog.

the dougs website has a link to the 2007 catalog but it no longer works.

Got a call back from Marvin a tech a petronix and he said that the chevelle one will work with the stock ls1 engine mounts and the sk100 adapter kit which repostions the engine so the headers fit. I couldn't find the sk100 on jegs or summit but I will keep looking.

hmmm i cant imagine them making an odd ball mount that will limit the header fitment. i have my fingers crossed that they used a S&P style. i want to buy a set to look at but im not ready to test fit the engine in my car. i think thanks giving day i will pull the SBC and muncie.
