I thought I would post a pic of mine and a couple of my friends. One from my local area and one from Maryland.

But here is my baby. I am currently selling the complete suspension on it now to upgrade it all. Also have the whole thing tore apart to restore.

My '65 Jetstar 88. Parents bought it new in 65, so I guess that makes it a one owner :-)

Absolutely BEAUTIFUL Jetstar! I know what my next project will be!

Clay, what color is the paint on it? Looks like a dark blue? I've been looking for something similar for my '87.

      Thanks,

      Thanks,
It's BMW Orient Blue Metallic #317. I dont think they have that on '09 Bimmers, but up to about '07. It would be good to see the color in person. It's a really neat color, and at times, looks like it has a tad of purple in it. At night, it looks black.

Yes they did, but personally I don't like them as much as the Holiday Coupe, (Olds nomenclature)

Good to see that this thread is alive and well. Here's what going in my '68:

466 cu. in., manual crank, Engle cam, extensively ported Ga heads, Edlebrock intake/750 carb, Thorley Headers, and on and on...

Before I started the whole teardown & rebuild:

      724tim,

I love your car's stance! I have the same springs plus the ATS spindles, so I should have a little more drop up front. Its really cool to see what stance my car should have when I finally finish it.

I worked for an Olds dealer for over 20 years so I have a soft spot for these cars. This is one of the nicest Olds of any type I have ever seen. This car is beautiful! What a great job. Olds built some good looking cars back in the day and I'm surprised we don't see more of them being built. This car will surely inspire some people to consider doing an Olds. Enjoy!

Thank you for the compliment JV69/Z28..When I turned 16, my parents gave it to me for my first car. I drove it for about a year then moved on to cooler cars (the olds wasnt "cool" back then...just an "old hand-me down".) That thing sat in storage for more than 20 years, and I revived it about 5 years ago (new paint, interior, air bags and Torque Thrust IIs). Everything on the underside has been replaced (bushing, bearings, brakes, etc.). Originally the Jestar 88 came with a 330ci engine, 2-speed transmission so I took that out and dropped in a 425 and transmission from a Delta 88.

Fortunately, I didn't have to scrounge around for any original parts, since everything was all there (chrome, stainless trim, etc.) Oldsmobile only made 12,000 '65 Jestar 88, and wasnt a very popular car when compared to the more loaded-out Delta and Dynamic. The biggest problem for the Jestar 88, was the fact that the drivetrain, suspension and brakes came from the f-85, which was way to small for such a big car. The Delta and Dynamic had the 425 and 455 with larger brakes. Since it wasn't really all that popular of a car, there are very few '65 Jetstar 88s remaining. I've only seen 2 others in person my whole life. It amazes me the attention the car gets, especially at Good-Guys shows. The first show I drove it to after it was finished, was the Good-Guys Nationals in Columbus Ohio, where it received a Custom Rodder Magazine Top Ten pick. I was floored! To me, it's just an old car that I grew up with :-) Oh yeah.. It only has 56,000 mile on it!
