I have a billet gauge panel, (now sold at ThePartsPlace) and a factory style dash panel that you need to use the Metron part in. The factory style part gets cut up and most of the middle is removed. Then you install the billet piece between the two out side parts of the factory pieces. They give you little clips which I didn't have much luck with. So I put it together and epoxied it in place. Not sure if this was a good idea but it's what I did.

I started working on the dash, here's how it went.

I made a little fudge near the heater control opening, you can see it in the above picture. I need to try to fix that without making it worst with my shaky hands.

Well it's been a while since I posted Three weeks ago I had something on my finger remove and it's taking longer than I expected to work again. But we got a few things done. I installed the temp sensor on my Aluminum Hugh's trans pan and got it on the car. It's the shallow one and it is only as deep as my oil pan on the motor so it doesn't hang down.

I also put in my oil pressure sender for my Auto Meter gauge up top of the motor with this Aeroflow adapter. it's a nice piece.

And here are the two oil pressure senders A.M. to the side and Factory one on top.

I picked up a little bling to cover those ugly coils. I also have a set of Holley polished valve covers for it. ( I'm embarrassed to say I miss placed them and now I can't find them in all this chaos in the garage. )

Here are the coil covers, I tried one on for size. I'll use socket head screws.

Crackin build thread there Wayne, especially handy since I'm halfway thru an LSA upgrade on a 1969 Camaro too
Keep up the good work - hard work though, as the funds run thin at the end of builds - ask me how I know - haha

      Wayne,

I have the same (but for different coils) coil covers. I had mine bead blasted and anodized. You may want to look into that...The raw aluminum finish will oxidize very easily. I also used stainless hardware to attache them. This is all in my Cougar build thread.

I know Andrew when I saw your I loved them. Then I saw them for sale on E Bay and I couldn't pass them up. If I can ever make up my mind on color I want to have them powder coated along with my accessory drive to match the stripes and a section of the interior trim to tie it all together.

Ken, I need to move near you and get your expertise on these swaps, They look like child's play for you! Some times I feel like Curly staying in one sopt going around in a circle. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T2iZPRif2i4

I wouldn't powder coat. Anodizing is a superior finish for bare aluminum.

Yes it's better, but with all the different grades of Aluminum I think the color would vary too much from piece to piece .

I was thinking from the coil covers to the accessory brackets plus I was thinking of doing my reservoir tank for the inter cooler. they are all different grades of aluminum.

I think some variance in the color add interest. Engines that are completely the same color don't really show that much detail. Everything just gets washed out. That's just my opinion...

      Christmas deliveries

Well Santa was good to me this year with everything but warm weather and time to get in the garage. He did send me some goodies for the car.
The first is a Twist Machine paddle shifter, Looks pretty good.

Next I got an E-Stop electric parking brake.

The weather is a little bit warmer so I might be able to warm up the garage to a tolerable temp.
