Worked out in the garage today, we had started to make a top bracket to hold the A/C compressor in the low mount position. We had it together and then the A/C Suction and Discharge Fitting Block for the compressor came in and of course it was going to be too tight on one side so apart it came. I bent up another arm and Spacemwn welded it on. I cleanded it up and primed it today and I'll paint it tomorrow.
Here it is in etching primer.

The little notch is to clear a bolt on the compressor.

amazing how such a little thing takes so long to get it right. Thank god we enjoy this stuff!

I went out to do some small things last night at 10:30 it was still 91 in there. I don't have a ceiling in there and no powered exhaust up top so once its hot it stays that way.

We installed the Hamburger remote oil filter mount on the frame right behind the radiator. I will be running the -12 oil lines to the filter then to the oil cooler in radiator and back after I make my order for my hose and fitting, soon I hope.

The next thing to try and stuff in there is the trans cooler in the white box in the bottom of the picture.

Last week I installed the DBW pedal using the GM factory bracket that came with the controller and the DSE mount. It looks good.
      Thanks icemanrd19 for the pictures.

Was wondering what's a good way to mount my peddle , looks good, will look into it..cheers

About 3 weeks ago I sent my headers out to be coated. They came back last week but I was helping my daughter with my grandson he was home sick for the week.
Well I got in last night from my grandson sitting ( too old to say Baby sitting) duties in Virginia. I did some stuff around the house and finnally got to go pick up my headers at UPS. They got in last week while I was away and no one was here to sign for them, so I had them hang on to them so I could get them when I got back.
They went to Jet Hot for thier 2500 degree coating. They look nice I had them do the titanium color. The finish is a lot rougher than the ceramicoat finish. It feels like a 120 or 150 grit sand paper. I like it. I'm not sure how they will be if they need cleaning because of the rough surface. I only had a few minutes so I only got a few pictures of one header. I'll try to get more and better ones tomorrow.

The second 02 bung is to be used by the tuner and will be capped after it's tuned.

This bung is the one that came on the headers and doesn't have any clearance needed to fit the sensor with the 4l85.

The true color is much darker than it showed out in the sun and I like the darker color.

Hi have you fit the hood on with the ZL1 cover on the LSA.

I have the LSA in my car (with the Heigts ifs) I still have the caddy (CTSV)cover on and the trim still rubs the hood. The ZL1 cover is taller. Wondering how you made out

Hi I have the ZL1 lid which fit with the cowl hood but, I went to a 1" hose and AN fittings which do not fit. They hit the under structure of the hood at the front. I haven't tried the beauty cover because the hoses already hit.

Nice work on the AC bracket. Maybe I missed it, but is that a Sanden compressor?

      Yes, it's an SD7, https://www.summitracing.com/parts/vta-04670-mta

I got in the garage this morning. Spaceman put some fluid in the converter and installed it on the trans. Then we dropped the motor back in it. It's been in and out so many time I think it knows the way on its own. This is the firs time in quite a while you can walk without feeling like your driving through the cones at an autocross.
Not too much progress but it feels good.

Did a little in the garage yesterdayI got the headers bolted up. Then I put the remote oil filter back in to measure for the oil cooler lines. I made up the return line from the oil filter to the motor. The radiator's not in so can't do all the hoses. I bought a kit to pressure test the hoses before I put them in, so I tested the hose and left it over night. Still pressurized this morning. Good to go.

Not much to see but here's the hose

      The headers bolted up.

      Bolted up the starter too.

Packaging, packaging, packaging! It always seems to get crowded before they're finished.

I got out in the garage for a few hours today and test fit the oil lines to the remote filter and when the radiator support goes back in I'll plumb the oil cooler in the Radiator.

This was the idea I had when it was on the engine stand.

These are just installed loosely. They are not as tight to the oil pan as they look.

They clear all hot or moving parts. They will also have a hose seperator bolted to the block to keep them safely away from everything.

In this picture you can see the aluminum piece I started to make bolted to the block, there is also a bolt hole right below it. I will drill and tap the aluminum for the hose seperator.

Here you can see the room I'll have once they are bolted up.

The return line is connected to the filter the long hose will be secured to the frame or inner fender on its way to the bottom of the in radiator oil cooler.

Then its to figure the routing of the discharge from the cooler to the in side of the filter.
