I guess they've moved the Riverview DQ show to some other fast food joint around the corner (to the south on 301). But for info on meets and shows in the Tampa area, definitely check the "local events" section on TR: http://www.tamparacing.com/forums/local-events/ .

BTW, lately I've been hitting the USF meets. They've been pretty darn good, pretty good variety, even with some exotics and some serious muscle cars showing up. One night there were over 200 cars, including a Mercedes SLR McLaren.

Good to hear you'll have the car done soon. Better than me with the Mach... gonna go EFI, so I'm trying to figure a bunch of stuff out.

As for the USF meets, I haven't been to one since they started up again in August. By reputation, they've been doing well and moved to a new, more accessible parking lot. The ones I did attend did have big attendance, nice variety, no obvious stupidity, nice atmosphere, and all that. USF campus cops drove through a few times during the events (fine by me!). If you're interested, the best thing to do is visit/"Like" their facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/pages/USF-C...79515715423407 . BTW, there's a break-off organization that does events in the area as well, called Tampa Car Meets: https://www.facebook.com/pages/Tampa...84752531547360

One last thing... don't forget about Dupont Registry's Cars & Coffee event every month... usually pretty big with tons of cool stuff, usually including several pro-touring type cars: https://www.facebook.com/CarsAndCoffee . Next event is next Saturday, Feb 18.

My car isnt pretty enough to be in a show, but.like to drive it to shows. Im waitin on a new idler arm to throw my new steering together. Then I should be good to go for some shakedown runs. I ended up changing the wheels from the rendering you did for me. Car is finally getting to where I want it to be. Cant wait to get it sorted. What time is the Dupont show and where? I have to work but Ill get out about 2pm. Hopefully I can still make it.

Yep, the Dupont show is an early one. Bummer you have to work so early on a Saturday. Try one of the USF meets instead, or at least check out the tamparacing.com forums (http://www.tamparacing.com/forums/) for other events, meets, and shows. It's pretty active, and they actually have an auto-x/road race section with a good active group in there. There's tons of stuff going on nearly all the time, which is one of the best things about living Florida.

AHAHAHA, Funny! I saw your post about your shop request and sent you a PM. Then switch back to main forum and see the FL peeps thread pop up, scroll down to see HEY JOHN! LOL

The answer (without really trying to promote myself TOO much) is, me! I work out of an automotive machine shop/garage on Congress just north of Atlantic. Do good work and don't charge enough.

Too long a haul from Sarasota. If US19 wasn't so f'ing miserable to drive, then maybe, but as it is, it's over 1.5 hours to get there.
