      Hood hinges

      I went back and looked for some pics of my hood hinges and came up with the prototype pics from the early stages when my camera was working.

      Sorry I didn't post them in the other forum but here they are now.I hope you can see how they work. They are attached to the header panel on the 2 support braces installed by the factory.

      It is a dual lever mounted hinge to give the right geometry to clear the header panel on its way up and over.

      Hey Jim...

      Got any drawings or sketches?
      I am wanting to front hinge the hood on my Astro so I can extend the back of the hood (with metal) to the windshield to eliminate the plastic cowl panel. If I do this the hood won't open as it's designed so I figured I may as well make it a front hinge as long as I am designing new hinges.

      I'm going to be adapting a 3 series BMW front hinge setup over the next couple of weeks. I'll post pics as I figure it out.
