      nOOb question... im sorry

This is really sad, but it has been bugging me for some time.

Can someone please explain to me what 18 degree and 23 degree heads mean?

What are the differences? Which is better? pro's con's?

What is stock on a SBC?

It is the angle of the plane of the valve head relative to the block mating surface I believe (or something pretty close). The 18 degree head ought to flow more, but is probably overkill for everything but the stoutest motor. They also tend to be more expensive, and require a whole bunch of unique prts, including valvetrain and intake manifold.
