66 chevelle rack ?
has anyone tried , or is there a kit to install a rack in the front of a 1966 chevelle?

No kit. Others have tried and succeeded. Do a search in this forum, it has been discussed a few times here recently.

A company called Maval engineering A.K.A Unisteer is said to be working on a rack and pinion conversion kit,but probably won't be available for several months. I have seen there product for other cars and the kits seemed to be well thought out. Also they make purpose built racks, they don't use Mustang II stuff, they manufacture the rack for the specific application.
