Dang.... Impressive. Big block power in a small block package has me wondering if I made the right engine choice

      So, is this a 58-tooth LS2 w/ HP Tuners/Speartech harness?

      What compression are you running?

What do those heads flow? People really under estimate the LS engines! That is pretty good power that can be had for a motor that will most likely live to 150k+ miles.

Without the turbos, my little 347" ls1 with a 224 cam and TEA stage 2 heads made 430 hp at the wheels!

The best thing is that most of the parts interchange too! I love LS motors.

Long story.. we had thought the motor was an 58 tooth LS2 due to the color of the plug. Later we ran the numbers and it turned out to be a 24x wheel. We still had to wait for FAST to make the adaptor harness so Westech could dyno test the engine.

My Speartech harness just showed up today and it's beautiful.. I will be running a factory LS2 computer.

Stock compression and the test was done on 91 Octane ARCO gas..

So any idea what it would cost to duplicate your setup?

      Lots of $$$

But, you could do it cheaper..

      1. Find a pull-out LS2 engine with the computer, harness and accesories.

      2. Port and rework the LS6 heads that come with the engine

      3. Find some lower cost long tubes

By going this route you could be thousands of dollars less in price and only 20-30hp lower in power.. making power gets exponentally more expensive as you go up.

      For my deal:

      LS2 Engine - $5500
Speartech harness and ECU - $1200 (guess)
      FAST Intake - $900
Comp cam and pushrods - $450
AFR 205 heads with upgraded springs - $2200
      Stepped 1 7/8 long tube headers - $1800

      I think that's it..

When you buy the crate motor you will also need to buy a starter, ps pump, alternator and all the brackets to bolt them on. If you are running a manual transmission you will also need a flywheel. If you are not running corvette accesories you might need a new dampner.

My flywheel is the 8lb Mezeire billet unit and my dampner is the lightweight ATI SFI unit.

      Did that make sense???

Nice numbers Steve, that is one pretty potent combo there.

I'm eyeballing those heads and intake myself in the near future.

No, I just have a guess about the posters identity.. sounded sorta "Yodyesk" -- even if it isn't I just got the sarcasm in his post..

Westech does a TON of dyno testing for just about everyone and they have their engine dynos regularly calibrated..
