H2O pump ?
I have an edelbrock water pump. there is a small, 1/2 inch or so oppening on the top. in some pics i have seen a short length of heater hose running from there to the manifold, other pics i have seen this port plugged. what needs to happen. can i plug it and mount the water temp sensor (electric) in that front hole on the manifold? or do these two need to be jumped together? this is on a BBC by the way. thanks

plumbing
That is the bypass for the water pump. You can plug off the water pump and thread your temp sensor into the manifold but you must drill a few 1/8" bypass holes in your thermostat.
