      how to remove steering column?

how do I remove steering column from a 68 camaro? I removed all bolts on inside of car and loosened the rag joint where it attaches to steering box. Thought it would just slide right out...nope... what am I missing that I dont see? Sorry not really mechanically inclined , learning as I go.Would appreciate any help. By the way it is a column shift and I bought a new ididit column non shift to replace it.

3 nuts right under the dash,
3 bolts where the closeout plate bolts to the firewall, under the pedals
you say you've loosened the rag joint, might want to remove the bolt completely.
      unhook the wiring harness,

it should come out in you hands.

the 3 nuts are under closeout plates held with screws,
