69 camaro with console ls t56 with cobra tailshaft vs regular mag shifter location?

Im doing a Ls3 in my 69 with a console. Im almost ready for a transmission. I was shopping around and t56 builder has a new non f magnum and he has a ls t56 with a cobra tailshaft which he says brings the shifter right were it needs to be for a console. Anybody ever heard of using this option? Does it bring the shifter to the same place as a regular magnum?
