      Front Fender Exit Exhaust

As i am gathering my plan for the exhaust i wanted to see if anyone has done a front fender exit for their exhaust? I know that this is a pretty common practice on drag racing cars but i have never seen this in a Pro-touring car. I plan on running a single turbo set-up and it would be a lot cleaner install if the exhaust did not run back and forth in the engine bay. It would also clean up the underneath of the car allowing easy access and eliminating a clearance issues too. This might be a more form over function thing. what do you guys think?

Will it be street driven often? Room for a muffler under the hood? Passenger side exit hopefully?

Doubt you'd be happy with it. It does not take much exhaust to cause you problems, and dumping it in front of the car means you will always be driving into it. Windows down or not, it'll get drawn into the fresh air intake. It's why federal law requires exhaust to be dumped behind the passenger compartment. I could also see some hardass rookie cop pulling you over for a fixit ticket, particularly in Florida. Then there's the noise - while the turbo will act as a muffler of sorts, it'll still not be much quieter than open pipes and that will wear in a hurry if you decide to do some cruising. Drag racers only drive their cars for a minute at a time, and they're wearing a helmet for it.

Your car your choice, but I think you'd be happier in the long run by running a conventional exhaust.
