      Camaro SS Speedtech

I am almost done with the Speedtech pro touring package installation. 502, I'm having problems with the left header # 5 pipe on the sub frame. Headers are Ultimate headers. Anybody encounter this problem?

Pictures would help. Depending on how it's contacting, you might be able to just adjust the engine mount to move it away, or put in a spacer.

If that won't do it, the traditional fix is to bang the header pipe with a BFH. You can use a large heavy walled socket, like a 30MM, as a form between the hammer and header. With care, you might even be able to make it look like it belongs. I've done it and it works, and as I recall dyno testing on manually adjusted headers only has a couple of HP impact. Of course, that would void any warranty on the header.

If you gave a really good exhaust shop, they may be able to cut the offending pipe out and install a new one with enough of a bend to miss. This would require redoing any coatings on that header and, of course, will void the warranty.

You can also take a picture and contact both Speedtech and the header company to see what they recommend. I suspect that each will tell you to call the other guys for a fix though.
