Location for 3/8 brushless fan water temp sensor

They took long enough to respond. Anyone with a fan they can't use an ECM on and doesn't have its own built-in controller, DCC Controls is the way to go.

It will work on a brushed and brushless fan, it wont work on a fan with an internal pwm

A brushless fan will still have a multiphase inverter and it’s going to get quite pissed off if you connect it to a DCC PWM controller. Perhaps DCC could supply details of brushless fans that work with their controller….

The brushless fans that are three wire (bat+, bat-, pwm signal input) cannot be used with the DCC (or PSM/vaporworx) brush-type controller. Basically any brushless fan motor that needs a PWM control signal.


For brushless fans that do not have the logic built in (two wire) there is a very good chance that the DCC controller will work well. It does work on other similar brushless motors such as those used for water pumps. A bit of experimentation would be needed but with a high likelihood of success.


But, if given a choice, the OEM or Spal brushless fans with built-in logic would be my first choice. They are worlds better than the aftermarket 12v-on brushless fans. Control can be done with an OEM ECM, many aftermarket ECM's (Holley), or a DCC/PSM/VaporWorx stand-alone brushless fan controller.

Ehh, that was what they sent me, that's all I can do. I moved on to ECM control years ago so can't say one way or the other.
